With Love, From Baltimore
MEET THE TEAM
The faces behind every chat, email, and phone call. Seth, Michael, Isabella, and Richard are the people you'll actually talk to when you reach out, no call centers, no scripts, no handoffs. Get to know the family below.
Meet Michael
Michael Wright
I have been in the furniture business for over 25 years in just about every role. My father has been in the industry for over 50 years and still works with my brother. When I was in elementary school, my dad would pay me a quarter for each catalog I assembled. In college, I worked at a furniture store called Abizach's in Rehoboth Beach, DE. After that I worked for some big companies as a sales rep, sales trainer, and international and ecommerce sales manager. I decided to jump when I found myself selling bed frames to Walmart and Amazon.
Meet Seth
Seth Barkman
I was kicked out of the Army for being gay, but I learned a lot along the way about the importance of hard work and attention to detail. I am obsessed with self improvement, exploring consciousness, and living the best and healthiest life possible. I love our store, it is just another way to connect with people and lend my skills.
Meet Isabella
Isabella Chilcoat
I'm a curator, artist, and former field archaeologist who once spent my days excavating ancient Roman ruins outside of Rome. That mix of art, design, and culture shaped how I see spaces, sharpened my eye, and taught me how to really listen, things I lean on every day with our studio clients. Now I run the Baltimore studio, and the best part of the job is learning every client's story as we figure out the right pieces and palettes for their projects.
Meet Richard
Richard Wright, Coming Soon
Richard is part of the team behind the scenes. His full bio and photo are on the way. In the meantime, you might catch him in chat helping out when things get busy.
A Little About The Place
ELEVEN YEARS IN THE MAKING
When Seth and Michael bought the building in 2013, it was a shell. They rebuilt it floor by floor, opened the showroom downstairs, and moved in upstairs. The room you're booked to visit is the room they live above.
BEFORE: Where We Started in 2013
We rehabbed a building from the 1800s on a shoestring budget with Seth learning on the job to be the General Contractor. Seth's parents took their Habitat for Humanity skills and helped lay floors and paint walls. When you walk in the store, you can still see a steel beam tagged with "Bethlehem Steel," the steel plant where both Michael's grandparents worked in Baltimore.
AFTER: Where We Are Now
Since then, we've worked hard to pay off our building and home so we can pass those savings on to our customers. We will only sell you something we think is perfect for you at the lowest price our vendors allow. We joke with customers that we offer "DC Looks at Baltimore Prices." Now people visit the store virtually and chat with us online.
Designing Our Home
When we moved in our floor samples, we also moved in our own furniture. We live above our store, so we have and love the same products we've been selling for 10 years.
Shopping with the Owners
Remember visiting a real store? We are deeply connected to our neighborhood Fells Point and love Baltimore. Book an appointment.

Let us send you samples and help you plan your space. Chat, call, text, or email. You always know the guys who own the place.
